Into the Bedroom - by Vin

Morning everyone!
First I would like to thank Dee/NJ, Val, Laure, Jill, Scribs and Heidi for inviting me (yet again LOL) to share my finds and ideas!!!Today, we're going "Into the Bedroom" for our discussion (and an added bounus 'backdrop'how to!) Now...I notice that when I make me two or three trips to the Home Goods/Marshalls or TJ Maxx that I find myself looking for diorama items instead of anything for myself...lol!
This discussion is no different! I found three DESK accessory pieces that you may or may not recognize...I posted as a teaser on another board with some good feedback and found it would make a great DD Tuesday Topic!
These three 'velveteen' desk pieces consist of a box with attached lid that I made into the bed! The second is a desk keeper for clips/tacks and anything else you may find rolling around - this is now the headboard...the last piece is a simple pencil keeper that I inverted to become the nightstand! Here are some pix with the new BedCoverings from FR/Integrity utilized with the bed/trinket box!

Desk access. box / Now a head board on 'lifts' - these are simple, tape dispenser rolls made of polystyrene and I will paint black!
The pencil box inverted/now a night stand!
The 'bed' being made up with the voyages bed linens from the last wave of loft accessories!

Close up of 'night stand' with varied accessories from My Scene sets, gloria fireplace clock and a hand made lamp from wooden dowels, faux leather shade! The next surprise in the bedroom is a Faux Armoire Closet!
This was a find \ bargain as I got it on sale at a Hallmark via my coupon! It came out to 8.99 with the coupon/markdown!
Its a deep box with a lid (used as the base now) and a storage comparment underneath! I simply made holes and inserted a knitting needle dowel as it has a stopper on one end and was thin enough for the hangers! Bring a sample hanger with you while purchasing to make sure they fit!
The box with rod in place...everything else came as is!

Now raised up on its lid...now a base that can be trimmed to fit and adhered to the bottom of the 'wardrobe' !
Closeup! Shorter items like dresses/skirts and jackets...gowns will be a bit long unless you turn it length wise!
Next to the Voyages 'boutique' box with mirror/mannequin! The colors almost match!!!

Adele is wearing the Egyptian Legends 'Adora' wig that came with the playline set! I kept it wondering if it would look good on SpaGetaway...only to find out it looks GREAT on Adele!

Now something fun and a bit out of the ordinary (for use of materials that is)
Here is a backdrop wall...kind of cool that Heidi mentioned today for Q/A what everyone's fave backdrop would be...I constructed this yesterday - it is black foamcore with polystyrene 'rings' from medical/surgical tape rolls...You can have nearby hospitals/nursing homes or clinics save these for you! I use them and have been saving for SOMETHING - wasnt sure what but it hit me with all the MOD lately it would make a perfect backwall! Adhered with craft glue and thats it!!!
