Hello gang!
Happy New Year (and Chinese New Year, at this point!). Welcome to our first
Diorama Discussion of the year. Today, I'm not going to post an actual
discussion, but give you a rundown of what we have planned for 2008. Then,
next week, we'll kick things off with a Diorama Discussion by guest host
Micheal Williams (Micheal W.). You may have seen Micheal's many articles and
amazing photos in Haute Doll magazine.
Michael will give us the lowdown on his room that pays homage to interior
design guru Jonathan Adler.
Michael will share with us how he picked up a collection of in-scale pieces
from here and there, then crafted and customized others and finished by
adding just the right accessories to create a thoroughly modern room with a
nod toward mid-century style. You will love all of his clever finds and
ingenious tips for creating those hard-to-find miniature pieces. Check back
next Tuesday, February 5.
This year, I will continue to invite guest hosts to share their work and
tips for making great rooms and props. I will also be sure to share my own
ideas and pics with you as I have for the past several years. We'll also try
to host a contest at some point. I am always impressed by what I see on the
boards. You guys are SO creative. So, don't be surprised if I contact you
and ask you if you'd like to guest host someday!
But, you don't have to wait for an invitation. If you have:
* a diorama project that you are working on or have completed
* some great displays in your doll room
* A piece of furniture you've crafted or customized
* Or any other diorama-discussion-worthy topics
E-mail me and let me know what you have to share and perhaps you, too, can
be a guest host for 2008!

If you are a bit shy, but still want to share, good news! I'm posting a list
of topics for our Open Forum weeks. Basically, we feature a Diorama
Discussion once a month. Every other week, we hold an Open Forum where we
invite you to post (in one thread), any tips, questions, photos and finds
that are diorama related. Below is our 2008 schedule through September.
Keep this list handy so you'll be prepared to post! There may be an
occasional change in our schedule, but we'll be sure to let you know.
