I´ve been so busy here that I haven´t had time to post! I was counting on two calm weeks in the country side, but boy was I wrong! A couple of days ago I decided to go and visit the dolls upstairs, the vintage girls told me there was all kinds of Barbies, and some Fashion Royalties too...
...but HOW was I going to get up those stairs?! It was so steep, it would take a little one like me the whole day! Oh, well, I thought, better get started. But I only got to the first step when I heard a voice from above!
I looked up, and there was four dolls looking back at me! "Hi there", said the redheaded doll, "need some help? Wait, we will lower our lift down to you." And down came a bag, tied to a long ribbon. "Climb in, we´ll hoist you up!"
I did like they said, but I was really nervouse as they started to pull me up. It was soo high!
"Hi, I´m Kate and this Babs, Leyana and Mi. We are some of the outcasts in this house. Who are you, have you come to join us?" I told her my name and that I´m visiting, and asked her what she meant with outcasts.
"We are the unwanted ones, they who are doomed to spend their life put away in a box in the closet. Sure, the Big Person likes us, but there´s not enough room for all us dolls and we playline dolls are the ones that had to be put away." I thought that sounded terrible, I think it´s bad enough when I travel to be put in a box, but the whole time! Poor girls!
"Nah, don´t pitty us, be sorry for the ones stuck in the cabinets! You see, we sneak out when ever we like and we´re having tons of fun! We´re having a Halloween party on saturday, you should come! It´ll be great, we even got boys!" I said that I might just do that, then I thanked Kate for the help, but now I really needed to get moving, and did she know where the Silkstones and Fashion Royalies live? "Sure, in through that door, but you´re not going there, are you?? We never do, the Silkies are such snobs and EVERYONE is afraid of the FR´s!" It scared me a bit, but I told her I met FR dolls before, and that it was my duty as an explorer to go and visit them. "OK, good luck, you´ll need it!" said Kate, and then I said goodbye to the rebel dolls
I tried to talk to the MOD girls, but they were too occupied being fashion models...
...so teased them a bit. This one got pretty mad when I played with her hair ribbon!
These are "Living" and "Live Action" Barbies, but all they did was pout. Not much action, I think!
So I went to the nursery and played with the kids instead, that was much more fun!
I also met the European princesses, but after that I headed for the Silkie´s appartment, but first I needed a change of clothes, I had a feeling that the Silkies wouldn´t aprove of my jeans!
When I got there I met three beautiful but not very friendly ladies. "Sooo, you are DeeDee... What is that short for? Desiree? Deidre? Oh, well, we haven´t got time with that now! We are hosting a soaré tonight, and we are VERY busy, your visit is surely not passable right now." I understood that Kate had been right, the Silkies in this house really were snobs!
"You can go to the girls in the living room instead, the maid will show you, and pleeease take off those boots! Those heels would leave awful marks on the carpet! So, run along now, little Deborah or whatever your name was!" the lady finished, practically shooing me away!
But the Silkies in the livingroom was so much nicer! They liked to put their feet up just like anyone else, and I stayed for quite a while, chatting about all and nothing!
And so finally, it was time to meet the dreaded Fashion Royalties! My knees shivered a little when I took the lady of the house´s hand. "Hello my dear, we have been expecting you! It´s so nice to meet someone as well traveled as you! Please, have a seat and tell us about your fabulous adventures! I hear you visited a convention recently?"
It turned out to be a most pleasant evening! The FR dolls were very friendly, and we had a great time together!
I really enjoyed spending time with them, and I fell totally in love with Murphy, the ferret! He jumped up in my lap and went to sleep, he was soo cute! I actually told them that other dolls had warned me about them, but they just smiled. One of them said "Did the Silkies say that?" and everyone burst in to laughter. I had no idea what was so funny, so I just smiled, as I always do.
But all nice things comes to an end, and I had to leave. As I waved goodbye to everyone, they made me promise to come visit again before I leave, and I´d be happy to! Next time I´m going to tell you about yesterday, when the Big Person took me to the capitol of Sweden! Hugs to all, DeeDee |
